A quick and easy appetizer, this version of salmon poke starts with smoked salmon mixed with a poke sauce, placed on fried taro chips, and topped with a dynamite sauce, pickled ginger, and black sesame seeds. Smoked Salmon Poke with Dynamite Sauce and Taro Chips
Ingredients
  • Smoked salmon chopped up, as needed
  • Garnish: sliced pickled ginger black sesame seeds
Poke Sauce
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons green onions chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon chopped unsalted and lightly toasted macadamia nuts
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons fresh chopped jalapeno chile
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
Dynamite Sauce
  • 1 cup real mayonnaise
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons Vietnamese chile sauce
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons sugar
  • A few drops of sesame oil for flavor
Taro Chips
  • Taro cleaned, peeled, thinly sliced
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt for sprinkling
Instructions
  1. Poke Sauce: Mix all ingredients together
  2. Dynamite Sauce: Mix all ingredients together.
  3. Taro Chips: Fry taro slices in hot oil. Sprinkle with salt. Keep covered until ready to use.
Smoke Salmon Poke
  1. Mix desired amount of smoked salmon with poke sauce to taste. Top each taro chip with a small spoonful of smoked salmon poke. Drizzle some dynamite sauce over the top, and garnish with black sesame seeds and pickled ginger.
