- Blue and gray at the sides, fading to gray at the belly. Younger ones are more brightly colored.
- They can reach a foot in length, max is 25 inches.
Range and Habitat
- They are found in the Eastern Pacific, from Monterey Bay, CA to Central Baja.
- Adults are found near bottom over and near rocks and other structures, and steep banks.
Market Forms
- Popular gamefish, and a very good eating fish.
