Undercurrentnews.com reports that while Western raw material supplies will be hit hard by the ban, the ban itself does not include the imports of processed seafood products under the custom code 1605 – which includes “crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserved.” It will be interesting to see how this loophole in the seafood ban will play out, and how it may adversely affect Russia in more ways than one.
