Pomodoro Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 28- oz can tomatoes blended with juice in a blender
  • About 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 to 4 garlic cloves chopped
  • Pinch of sugar
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add in the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Do not let the garlic brown or the sauce may be bitter.
  2. Add in the tomatoes, pinch of sugar, and salt to taste. Increase heat and let the mixture come to a boil stirring frequently. Reduce heat and simmer sauce for about 15 minutes, stirring frequently. Sauce with thicken slightly during cooking.
