Oven broiling involves the use of the ‘broil’ feature in the oven. It is using the top heat element exclusively to cook, and while the heat is on top, it is a cooking method similar to grilling.

Oven Broiled Fish
Ingredients
  • 2 pounds fish fillets cut into serving sized pieces
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven broiler element to 450 degrees. Arrange the oven rack so the fish will be about 2 inches away from the heat. Lightly grease a sheet pan.
  2. Sprinkle the fish fillets with salt and pepper. Arrange the fish in a single layer on the sheet pan. If the skin is still on, place it skin side up. Bruch each fillet with the melted butter.
  3. Broil for about 5 to 8 minutes, or until the fillets are lightly browned and the fish tests done.
  4. Serve hot.
