Fried oysters make great appetizers and the main items for sandwiches, like Oyster Po’ Boys. Here’s how to make them easily.
- Fresh oysters, shucked
- Dry tempera mix
- Oil for frying
- Salt and pepper
- Heat oil to 375 degrees F.
- After shucking oysters, sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Toss the oysters in dry tempera mix (not prepared, just the dry mixture). Shake to remove extra mixture.
- Fry in hot oil until browned, and cooked through.
