Identifying Characteristics and Biology

  • Pacific barracuda are long, thin fish with silvery sides.
  • Their mouths are full of sharp teeth.
  • For coloring, their backs are blue to brown, and tails are tan to brown.
  • Very fast growing fish reaching to 40 inches (though rare at this size).

  • Kodiak Island to Baja California.
